What Is Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) ?

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports and martial arts. Various mixed-style contests took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s. In 1980 CV Productions, Inc. created the first regulated MMA league in the United States named Tough Guy Contest, later renamed Battle of the Superfighters, sanctioning ten tournaments in Pennsylvania. However, in 1983 the Pennsylvania State Senate passed a bill prohibiting the sport.

The combat sport of vale tudo that had developed in Brazil from the 1920s was brought to the United States by the Gracie family in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

What Is Kick Boxing ?

Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate, Muay Thai, and Western boxing.

The Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general fitness, or as a contact sport.

Japanese kickboxing originated in the 1960s, with competitions held since then.

What Is K-1?

     K-1 is a combat sport that combines stand up techniques from Muay Thai, Karate, Taekwondo, Savate, San shou, Kickboxing and traditional Boxing to determine in a one-night tournament the single best stand-up fighter in the world.

The K of K-1 is taken from the initials of these standing fighting sports, such as karate, kickboxing, kung-fu, Kyokushin, and Kempo.

Tom-Yum-Goong  is a 2005 Thai martial arts action film starring Tony Jaa.

This is Tony Jaa's second movie.

The film was directed by Prachya Pinkaew, who also directed Jaa's prior breakout film Ong-Bak.

As with Ong-Bak, the fights were choreographed by Jaa and his mentor, Panna Rittikrai.

The film was distributed as The Warrior King in the United Kingdom, as The Protector in the United States, as Thai Dragon in Spain, as Revenge of the Warrior in Germany, and as Honor of the Dragon in Russia and CIS countries.

What is Tom Yum ?

Tom yum or tom yam  is a Lao and Thai, clear, spicy and sour soup.Tom yum is widely served in neighbouring countries such as Cambodia, Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore, and has been popularised around the world.


 Literally, the words "tom yum" are derived from two Tai words: "tom" and "yam".

   "Tom" refers to boiling process, while "yam" refers to a kind of Lao and Thai spicy and sour salad.
